A shower of news and updates for your enjoyment!

First, some cool happenings ~

  • On March 14th, MAL Director Lori Emerson gave a keynote presentation on her book Other Networks for Temple University’s truly awesome Electronics Faire.
  • On March 28th, Lori Emerson gave another keynote presentation, “As If, What If: A Media Archaeology of Networks,” for the University of Tampa’s Communication and Media Studies annual lecture series.

Ongoing stuff ~

  • The Other Networks pop-up is still on view in the CASE building, room W250, on CU Boulder's central campus. Open Hours can be found on this calendar.
  • In that same space, we're hosting a weekly Low-Tech Lunch meetup from noon - 2pm on Mondays. Drop by and chat about tech, or just hang out and eat lunch

Upcoming events ~

  • On Wednesday, April 9 at 4pm we are hosting a screening of Seeking Mavis Beacon with filmmaker Olivia McKayla Ross in person for a Q&A after the show. In the ATLAS building on the main CU Boulder campus, room 102. (in conjunction with the Media Studies Department and the Department of Cinema Studies & Moving Image Arts)
  • On April 17 we are hosting a Mix Tape and Snail Mail Party from 12-2 in the pop-up space in CASE W250.

And finally, announcements!

  • We will be resuming our Practitioner in Residence program for the 2025/26 school year! This season's theme is "Counter Computing: Alternative Imaginaries". Keep an eye out for the full text of the call and an application form in the next week!
  • If you pre-ordered a t-shirt - they are with the printer and so out of our hands unfortunately! Sorry we are a little behind, but we should have them and start shipping very soon.
