All April, no fools
Hi friends! News bytes for you - - - - - >
End of March stuff that happened:
- MAL Director Lori Emerson presented a paper titled “Liberation Radio(s) Beyond the Internet Imaginary” at the Society for Cinema and Media Studies Annual Conference in Chicago on March 26th.
- MAL Manager libi rose striegl and Residency Curator Oisín Sheerin both had zines published in the Unbound Journal special edition Academizines!
- Visiting Scholar Niamh O'Brien gave a mixed-media performance with a combination of her live harp and a mix of found and field recorded audio. A recording is up on our Twitch for a few more days, and she'll be performing again tomorrow (April 2) at 5:30 PM Boulder time in the CASE W250 space and on Twitch.

MAL stuff that will happen soon:
- MAL Manager libi rose striegl will be speaking & hosting a Take it Apart(y) workshop at the Temple University Electronics Faire April 9 & 10.
- Our "take our stuff, please" free garage sale event was so successful, we're doing it again. Date to be determined, but definitely a Saturday, likely early in May!
- Practitioner in Residence Clemens Scholl continues to work on his automata - it will be ready to view (and he'll give a public talk) towards the end of his stay. In the meantime, check out some previews of the work in a different iteration over on our instagram.
- Last year's visiting artist Jazmyn Crosby will very soon release a publication titled Interspecies Communication Operations Manual through the lab! It's looking beautiful and we're very excited... check out the tiniest preview of the cover below:

Non-MAL stuff that still may be of interest:

A silly question:
If we were to do a "Typewriter art race", would you participate? All participants would receive a piece of typerwiter art from Bob Neill's Book of Typewriter Art, with the challenge to complete the piece and time their entry... winners, of course, win glory and a beautiful piece of typewriter art...

and finally....
Did you know? Our various open hours and events calendars are all collected in one place now!
Check mediaarchaeologylab.neocities.org for open house hours, upcoming events, emergency closures, etc.
Alright that's all for now -
Signing off,
MAL 🌈
